SoCo is a locally owned and operated basketball league available to teams interested in taking their skills to the next level.  Coaches who have a team of boys/girls in the grades 4th – 10th (during the present school year) can sign up their team for an 8 game round robin league play that leads to a single elimination tournament.  Individuals interested in playing SoCo must enter as part of a team.  If an individual would like to play, and is not currently affiliated with a team, we suggest checking with your local school coaches for possible leads to teams.  SoCo does have a bulletin board option on our website that helps facilitate matching up teams in need of players, and players in need of teams.  In most cases, we have found that with a little work and communication, an interested parent/coach can put together a team.

The Southern Colorado Basketball League is a competitive basketball league that emphasizes good sportsmanship and fair play.  Integrity and character are just a couple of the attributes that fostered through the time spent playing in a SoCo League.

SoCo provides the organization for the league, all game sites, referees, t-shirts (not uniforms), and awards for the tournament.  Practice sites and game uniforms are the responsibility of the teams.  SoCo does insure (as a secondary means of coverage) the league.  This can include your practice facility.  If you need your practice facility covered, as an additionally insured facility, please contact Ron Clarkson’s e-mail here

The spring season usually starts the 1st weekend of April.  Games are not played on Easter Sunday.  The deadline for registering a team is around mid March. Spring games are played on Friday evenings, all day Saturday, and Sunday after 11:00am.  The fall season starts around the 2nd weekend of September and runs through late October.  The deadline for entering is around the last week of August.  Fall games are played Saturday afternoon and Sundays.  The start time for fall Sunday games depends on the number of teams entered. Teams may have one or two games scheduled per weekend.  Coaches must attend a meeting held prior to each season to discuss expectations.

If a particular division has 14 teams or more, we will split the division into the “Peak” and “Ascent” divisions.  The Peak division will be for more advanced teams, and the Ascent for teams still developing. We do expect the Ascent division to be very competitive as well. We can help you decide which division is best for your team.
