Finding or Starting a Team:
You can practice shooting eight hours a day, but if your technique is wrong, then all you become is very good at shooting the wrong way. Get the fundamentals down and the level of everything you do will rise.

Southern Colorado Basketball is a team orientated organization that runs leagues and tournaments throughout the calendar year. Besides a few summer camps for individual kids, SoCo registration entries are for teams that already exist. This entails have a coach and a minimum of eight players (no maximum) and a coach.

We do understand and appreciate the fact that there are individuals who, for whatever reason, do not have an existing team. Although we do exist for teams, we do want to help individuals become part of a team that can then join SoCo. So, how do you become part of a team? Where do you start? Any tips? Since SoCo began, we have been answering these questions. We exist for the love of the game, and to foster more quality basketball in the Pikes Peak region. We understand it can be frustrating being new to the area, not knowing many people, having a son/daughter with no affiliation etc. Check out this “Free Agent” document, that will provide you with some guidelines that might help.

If you plan to start a new team, all of the basic information can be found on the About SoCo Page and the SoCo Registration Page. Do not hesitate to contact SoCo for any questions regarding our league, tournaments, or camps.
